PERIOD PROPERTY RESTORATION & EXPANSION, LONDON
We designed and carried out extensive restoration, expansion and alteration to this mid-terraced London property.
In keeping with the vernacular architectural aesthetic, the front facade was restored to its original late Victorian design, the pebble dash was removed, we then proceeded with the brick cleaning & restoration to the stone detailing, brick repointing and render with lime mortar, replacement of timber sash windows, fabrication and install of iron railings, Portland stone railing plinths, tiled pathway & restoration of the original timber front door.
The rear elevation gave us more freedom to use contemporary designs, a zinc clad dormer was constructed in the loft to create another bedroom and the kitchen extended, Crittal windows and doors installed to the patio and upstairs bedrooms.
Internally, the original plaster, brickwork and timber features were restored and the original timber roof rafters were recycled and cut into slats and used for wall cladding.
LEAD DORMER WITH BALCONY
A new dormer and balcony was designed, formed and finished with lead covering to the roof and cheeks. Cast iron heritage guttering and new sliding balcony doors were installed, the balcony was completed with new iron railings to match the originals to the lower terrace.
BESPOKE BRONZE OBELISK FINIALS
We designed and installed these 3 bespoke bronze obelisk finials, the centre piece was overlaid with a design laser cut from stainless steel, the bronze was treated to give an aged appearance.
